Mrs Keegan - Headteacher
Mrs Keegan is our Head Teacher.
Hello everyone and thank you for taking the time to visit our school website. I have worked with pupils with SEMH for 17 years, both here and in mainstream settings. I am passionate about providing all of our pupils with the very best opportunities and experiences that will support them throughout their lives.
We aim to achieve this by building positive and trusting relationships with our pupils and their families. This enables us to work together to help the pupils to 'acknowledge the past, manage the present and work hard towards the future.'
I am exceptionally proud of our school and have been a part of the school's journey, in a number of different roles; beginning as a teaching assistant in 2007. I have been Head of school since 2015 and I feel very lucky to be able to work alongside an amazing, dedicated and committed staff team. I believe our pupils, with the right support, can achieve anything they set their heart on. I look forward to continuing to work together to make a difference in the lives of our pupils in the future. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you require any further information about our school or if you would like to arrange a visit.

Miss Claypole - Deputy Headteacher
Miss Claypole is Deputy Head Of School.
I have been working in education for 27 years. After working in Northamptonshire in a mainstream school for 7 years I moved to Lincolnshire and joined the Fortuna Family. Over the last 20 years I have been part of the journey and seen the school, staff and pupils go from strength to strength.
My role now enables me to work across the school supporting pupils and staff. A role I thoroughly enjoy. I love to see the children's achievements and share in their experiences as they gain more and more confidence and become independent learners, working towards the next steps in their school life.

Mr Chaplin - Assistant Head
Mr Chaplin is one of our two Assistant Heads.
Hello and welcome! I have been with Fortuna since 2007 and became an Assistant Head in 2015.
My role is mainly focused around supporting pupils with their SEMH needs and involves working alongside our Special Needs Coordinator and Play Therapist as well as supporting classroom-based staff. I am also the senior leader responsible for Children in Care, attendance and transport.
The most rewarding part of working at Fortuna is helping children to find new solutions to old problems and to thrive both personally and academically.

Miss Rollins - Assistant Head
Miss Rollins is one of our two Assistant Heads.
Hello everyone! I’m Miss Rollins, one of the Assistant Heads here at Fortuna School. I have worked with SEMH pupils for over 20 years, and it is a real privilege to be part of the Fortuna/Athena Federation. I feel incredibly lucky to contribute to the fantastic work that happens across our school community.
I spend half of my week teaching my own class, and the other half focusing on my role as Assistant Head. I help to train and mentor new staff, and I am also the Wellbeing Lead within the school. I oversee support for our Early Careers Teachers and enjoy spending time with staff and pupils across the school.
I am passionate about delivering training around nurture, attachment, and trauma-informed practice.

Mrs Thorpe - Child & Family Officer
Abigail Thorpe is our Child and Family Officer and Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Hello, I am the Child and Family Officer here at Fortuna School and have been part of the Fortuna family since March 2024.
My role is to support both children and their families, offering guidance, reassurance, and someone to talk to whenever needed. I can provide support through services such as Early Help, as well as being a friendly and approachable point of contact for families, my door is always open.
I also attend meetings that focus on supporting the child and their family, helping to ensure that everyone works together in the best interests of the child. Safeguarding and wellbeing are at the heart of everything I do, and I am dedicated to building positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
The most rewarding part of my role is getting to know each child and family, supporting them through challenges, and working alongside teachers to help every child feel safe, supported, and able to thrive.

Mrs Smith - School Business Manager
Mrs Smith Is our School Business Manager.
Hello, I’m Mrs Smith, the School Business Manager at Fortuna School. I help keep the school running smoothly behind the scenes — from budgets and resources to making sure our pupils have everything they need to learn, grow, and thrive.
You might not see me teaching in the classroom, but I work hard to make sure there are pencils to write with, books to explore, lunches to enjoy, and plenty of exciting opportunities for every child. Think of me as one of the people helping the “magic” of school happen each day!
At Fortuna School, we want every child to feel happy, supported, and ready to shine — and I’m proud to play a part in making that possible.
