Miss Mulligan’s Class

This term we are reading the book ‘Tales from the Billabong’ by James Vance Marshall and Francis Firebrace. It contains stories from the Dreamtime, stories that aboriginal people used to tell to make sense of how the world was created. As we read we are learning lots about the morals that the aboriginal people held, their beliefs, what is special about the animals and plants in Australia as well as general information about Australia as a country.

We are exploring Crime and Punishment across 4 historical eras this term - The Romans, the Anglo Saxons, The Tudors and the Victorians. Our study of crime and punishment will also include exploring transportation to Australia and a local study on Lincoln Castle.

We are working hard on lots of different things in Maths including: subtraction, fractions, measuring capacity and volume, directions and right angles. We really enjoy our maths lessons especially when we get to do practical activities.
