Mrs Husband’s Class |

Hello everyone, and welcome to our wonderful class page. The adults in class are Mrs Husband, Miss Rollins and Miss Senior and Mr Richardson. We are excited to share with you what we will be getting up to this term.

This term we are looking at cultural stories, specifically ‘Handa’s Surprise’ by Eileen Browne.

We have started the term by making our own fruit bowls out of paper mache which we are going to paint and decorate and then add our own fruit.

We have tried lots of different fruit already this term and have been great at describing them using our senses.

Topic

In Geography this term we are looking at our local area and a local area of Kenya to link with our book this term- Handa's surprise.

Art

This term we are going to be exploring collaging, using inspiration from the art of Picasso and George Braque.

P.E.

Our PE day is Wednesday!!

This term our PE focus is dance.

Maths

This term in Maths, we have been learning to count in 2s, 5s and 10s.

We have also been looking at 2-D shapes. We have looked at their properties and have started to look at sorting them into groups.

English

The main character in our story 'Handa's surprise' is Handa. She is on her way to see her friend Akeyo with some exotic fruit, but on her journey some cheeky animals take the fruit and she is left with just tangerines- the good thing is, Akeyo LOVES tangerines...Surprise!!

The children have created their own fruit baskets and are beginning to explore shape poems before they write their own.
